Towards Freelancing

When I was preparing for the IIT examinations in August 2020, I started my freelance career after learning Python language because I was tired of doing the same PCM routine. When I received my first payment, my father asked if I was doing anything illegal. When I replied no, he crossed questioned me, saying that you are 18 years old and have no job, so how did you earn all this money? I told my father, that I found a friend through social media and he gave me a job for which he paid me. As I was giving my answer, he appeared satisfied with it, but after my first internship, he started recognizing me. I realized then that Indians does not recognize freelancing as a career option.

Over the course of session 2021–2022, I worked on three freelance projects for around 152 days, and I also worked as an intern for a company for about 124 days, with internship income accounting for about 12.5% of my total income and this analysis opened my eyes.

When I joined Supernova, I thought it could solve the problem of making freelance a viable career option for Indians.
